actually its not a 67 400 head, its a 66 GTO head the casting number is 670. but you are correct, they are similar but no interchangablity. except the afore mentioned bellhousing pattern

but yea, the plugs being on top makes it a snap to change plugs

Just out of curiosity, would you post the block casting number? I ‘m wondering if you have the “hi-nickel” -558 block. Excellent motor. Yeah, hit the Olds forum sites, those guys can tell you a lot. the number's in the top rear of block, can't miss it. Have fun!
