Correct Injectors For Lt1
Newbie here, just came over from Chevy Talk.
Just bought a set of injectors off Ebay for the LT1 I'm putting in a '57 Chevy,
The set I bought are 28#, now I'm wondering if they are too large for a stock
LT1, I think it came with 22# injectors (1995 Trans Am was the donner car)
Any thoughts? Can a stock LT1 support 28# injectors?
thanks,
Jeff

It also depends on what fuel pressure they are rated at. One of my buddies had basically full bolt on clt1 and was running 33's. those 28's would definitely work if you had some way of tuning or changing the fuel map . But just swaping them in you might be running a little rich.

Let's also tell him that it depends entirely on what engine management he's using.
If you're using the stock LTx computer, you need to have the car tuned for the bigger injectors... and be aware that injectors rated '28' in an LSx are ... tada... '24' in an LT. LT runs 43 psi, LS runs 58 psi.
We need to know how you're doing engine management and what fuel pressure that 28 rating is to be helpful.

92 and 93's came with 22psi injectors. Every LT1 after that had 24's. It is possible to run those injectors but as the othere up top have asked, what kind of injectors are they and at what psi rating are they rated at. But either way they its needs to be tuned or else your going to be running rich.

My SVO (Ford) Injectors run 24#, but at lower PSI, so they're more like 25# in a LT1 So if your's are also SVO (red top guys?) then they'd be around 29# or pushing 30# I think LSx Injectors are thin aren't they? That'd be a quick way to tell off the bat.
Since you have a 95 setup, you can easily plug a laptop into your ALDL plug (with an ALDL cable) and change the injector rating to 28. I sadly don't have that luxury heh
