Then I had it balanced and put it together with just about all of my stuff from before. I got a LT4 Extreme Duty Timing Chain in it, and junked the stock one. I upgraded alot of stuff while I was there. The Machine work was $400, and that was to clean the Block up, press the Pistons on the Rods, install Cam Bearings, and to Balance it. It's alot smoother being balanced. I can tell already, and I don't take it past 3,000 RPM's.
Why would you put the stock crank back in when you put Eagle rods in, you could have just reused the old rods.

One of the Rods that came out of mine was spun, and a couple of the Pistons on the Vette were cracked on the side, so I decided to put some good stuff in it so I know I have the durability in the Engine.

Too high, or too low?
I still have to get the rest of the Engine used to moving.

After the first Oil change, which will be about 500 miles, I am going to start going higher in the RPM's.

So, you were able to fit the LS1 air intake under the stock hood with some cutting??? I'm extremely interested if that is what you are saying because, I thought it require a ram-air hood or Ultra-Z hood to fit.... I have an SS and want to keep this hood bad but, I like that LS1 intake sooo much better. Would like to know how it works out with the cowl as well...

I have a hole cut in the Hood. That is why we are looking for a Cowl to fit it so we can cover it.

350 Miles is break in period. You NEED to do some highway driving. Heres what you do, 30w oil, and break it in how you intend to drive it. Now I don't mean THRASH on it lol but you can put the pedal down a ways so it shifts high, but like, not spinning tires so you put a huge load on it. That's what I've always been told. Well, the 30w is more if you're breaking in a CAM too.

I am running 10W30 now, and I am on it a little, but it's shifting at 3000, no higher. After the 500 mark, I will get in it a little more, and get it used to the higher RPMS.

I have a nice strong Oil pressure also, it's not yet gone below 40 psi, and that's at idle.

I couldn't get it like that, it didn't want to fit, so we had to custom it.

If anyone is interested I have one of the sweetest LS1 Lid setups on my LT1 car that I am going to sell. I have to start making room for my D1SC setup and I am going to sell the whole kit ready to Bolt on.

MTI LID (best lid from GM high tech) Cost me $110 shipped
K&N Filter Cost me $55 shipped
LS1 bottom portin rad support that holds lid modified for Lt1 with new clips Cost me $35 shipped
2 Fernco 3.5 inch inlet outlet for TB-MAF and MAF-LID Cost me $10 at home Depot

This is going to be a Direct bolt on, I have $210 in this setup and I will sell it for $140 shipped. I had a SSRA kit for it as well but I have already sold it.
PM me if anyone is interested. Thanks
