Those springs will work with both cams only if 1.5 ratio rockers are used. The lift with 1.6 will be too much for them.

the LT4 hotcam set has 1.6 RR's, and the 503 is compareable size to it.

The 503 lift with 1.6 would be 0.536"/0.544", 305 is 0.544"/0.544". The LT4 springs were made for the stock LT4 cam which had a lift of 0.498" and they were just suitable for the 0.525" lift of the hotcam.

Hey similar question guys, I have a mostly stock 97 lt1 formula, and i am looking to purchase a lt4 hot cam and the corresponding lt4 valve springs. My question is can the car run well with the stock 1.5 rr's or is it a requirement to move on to the 1.6's?
also are their other necessary mods needed for my lt1 to move well with the new cam and springs, thanks for the help. -D

The LT4 springs are marginal for a HOT cam with 1.6s in LT1 heads due to the heavier LT1 valves. Do yourselves a favor and consider them ONLY for stock cam/1.6 applications and not for any cammed applications.
