Default Clearancing Issues 396 Vs 383

how bad are the clearancing problems on the sbc396 lt1's? are they a whole lot worse than a 383?
i can find a crank for one because its the 3.875stroke crank
i can find rods: 6.0"
the pistons are the hard part. if any one can find me a part number for a set that would be great. no nitrous so hypers would be great for my wallet. .030 over nothing over 12.0:1.
thanks in advance

Look on Summit, what Heads are you using?
I have about 11.2:1 Comp. It has 6.1cc Pistons, 52.7cc Chambers, .039 Head Gaskets.

3.875 crank with 6" rod puts the ring VERY high on the piston which is why you are having a hard time finding them.

IMO go 3.75 with 6". A 396 is much more about "mine is bigger than yours" than it is power.

from what i know on my build those psitons are custom made to order because of the longer stroke. yes the 396 is a mine is slighlty bigger than yours but if u got the cash y not spend it right?
