Oh yeah. Select Performance started 30 years with Ed and Vincent Alessi. Vincent is gone now, it's Ed & Ed jr. These guys pioneered the earliest shift kits. I'll be getting their street/strip package as well as a few other items. A higher stall fully brazed converter is on the menu also.

I have a tranny for sale, 4L60e out of my 1994 Camaro, rebuilt, all updates as of July 2005, I put maybe 2k on it. I ended up parting out the car. It has a transgo shift kit, and HD clutches, Pro Torque 2800 stall. I am looking for 1k (i paid alot more then that), I am next door to you maybe for some gas money I will deliver.

PM if intersted, I can get you the phn # of the place that did it to ask any questions.

Thanks for the offer but I'm gonna stick with the Select rebuild. They've been doing my transmissions for 20 years. And they're friends of mine too.

I've got the car back together, the Select Performance rebuild really shines. They showed me the bad parts that were re-used during the last re-build of the unit. They said it's very common in the industry. The torque converter was welded crooked and it destroyed the innards. The new converter is fully brazed and has a 2200 RPM stall. I opted to get the 5 pinion planet sets. This thing shifts real good. I know their work and the race cars their units go in, I feel really good about the work.

I installed the Derale pan with the cooling tubes in it and an Earls plate cooler up front plumbed with -8 lines.

While I had the car in the air, I installed the UMI SFC with the crossarm points, Spohn's torque arm and crossarm with rod ends, LCA,s with rod ends, the panhard relocation bar, J&M panhard bar with rod ends and KYB shocks.

The car spins the tires more now due to the higher stall converter but all that nasty wheel hop is gone.

Now about that 10 bolt rear...

Uhh my tranny started doing something really funny today. Never did it before, but now when i start my car i get a really funky noise coming out from where the stick is, it sounds like a vacume cleaner. Only does it when i start.

I'll tell you it was over 3 grand. Money well spent, I say. The unit was built by Eddie Alessi Sr. himself. He even took it out for a spin. Interesting how they run a '63 Pontiac with a Chevy motor, just like us Firebird guys. http://www.selecttransmissions.com/

Yeah, a 12 bolt is being planned. I can't get the ABS ring in a 9 inch and the S60's weight is too much, I won't be making 1200+ HP.
