I thought the same thing but then if you think about it its not TOO far fetched.
300 stock so maybe 250 at the wheels. so thats an 80 whp increase and hes probably on low boost, maybe through an auto.
Seems low but I can see how maybe thats all hes puttin down.

the best bang for your buck is just to buy a 150 shot, you will smoke him i GUARANTEE it, especially from a roll.

I second that. A 100 wet shot will be more than ample -- plus you'll get the best dollar/horsepower for the mod.

You can run it extremely safely and it'll give you more than enough for that 350Z

yea its a 6 speed manual 350z with 20's and a shitload of weight in the trunk, it has a vortec at 9 psi. Just finished dyno tuning got 330 to the wheels with a greddy exhaust and other bolt ons. He probably wants to do a highway roll because he cant launch it well with the 20's, i was thinking nos but i dont wanna hurt my motor... i was lookin at a 383 stroker kit for 900$ but idk how much installation would be and wat other supporting mods id need...

Do a Hot cam kit.
It's cheap, easy, and won't need any supporting mods other than LT's
My 96 SS 6-speed, did 345 RWHP & 346 RWTQ and ran 12.9-13.1 @ 110 mph on this exact set up. Figure $1,500-1,700 if you buy every thing new (hot cam kit, hooker coated lt's,). This also allows for a dyno tune. The best way is to find a used set of LT's and buy the hot cam kit new, mainly because it's all together and you konw you are getting the right stuff. I had well over 20,000 trouble free miles with that kit, and I shifted at 6,200 RPM too many times a day to even attempt to put a number on. All this was done to a stock engine at 65,000+ miles.
Good luck, and enjoy stoming out that z.

100 shot would be great, but if your going to do a cam, I'd go beyond the hotcam. Lots of newer cams out there, that put down more power, and are just as drivable. Just my thought.

go with an LE2 head/cam combo and your done. there is a guy form this board out of chicago that put dwon 400 RWHP with the SAME head/cam combo on a stock LT1 bottom end through a 6 spd.

If you are going to go through the trouble of doing a cam and head package, go with AI. They have never let me down, and my new set up is at 480 RWHP & 419 TQ. Check out their results page, lot's of guys running very well.
A cam and head package is the best way to go, but for a mostly street stock car on a limited budget I still support the hot cam.

A well rounded 383 bottom end will be well over $900, and if i were going to do a stroker i would do it right the first time and go fully forged. Then you have to worry about head and cam packages to support it, if your just looking for a cheap way to beat him now, the 100 shot is the best way, its safe if installed correctly and wont hurt your motor and again the best bang for the buck. Stay away from that stroker kit you are looking at though, too cheap and you will wind up hurting your motor with that.
