I've always been wary of using the Impala head gasket, because it was designed for iron heads. Will it chew the aluminum head? That's a question I've never been willing to answer myself... I am just running Fel Pros.

Yeah they don't have a 4.030" bore version. Only Cometic has a 4.040" head gasket for the LT1.

How much compression exactly do these gaskets raise. For instance i have 11.4 pistons right now with stock gaskets. how much would it raise with impala or mr. gasket gaskets?

Yeah, people really need not worry what the piston manufactures say in terms of compression ratios... you have to do the math. The difference in gaskets and deck height can change compression ratios almost a point!!

For those looking for a headgasket for an LT1 that runs N/A & n2o you should try the Cometics. I ordered mine .030 so the compression will be 11.7.1 which will work great both N/A (pumpgas) and n2o. I just recieved mine and they look great, I have used these on other race engines but this is the first set for my LT1. I will have some results for you guys later on this month. Clint
