I have been considering installing headers, but I don't see how this could be done to be emissions legal. The catalytic converter on the driver side is right below the exhaust manifold, so this would need to be relocated somehow with headers, right? I am under the impression that the cats cannot be legally moved. Are there any emissions legal ways of doing this?

its always been my experience that as long as you have them and they can find them easily the inspectors dont care much. i know here we dont even look for cats just do the readiness test for obd2 cars

They normally only check the OBD2 system here too, but I think they occasonally do a visual inspection. Is there a kit somewhere that can relocate this cat? I'd rather not have to do something custom if I don't have to.
