Default Conversion Confusion...

I'm considering switching my 94 T/A from an auto. to a stick...my car is mint inside and out,but i'm bored with the auto tranny.I got a great deal on the car so i sacrificed my search for stick shift and made the purchase. On the car I have put in a ram air kit w/hood,borla exhaust, upgraded to 18" wheel/tire pkg.,everything else is pretty much stock. My dilemma is I want more more speed and snap off the start...should I go with the tranny overhaul or just drop in a stall converter and gears???I'm leaning toward the converter and gears, but I miss the response of a stick and I honestly just miss controlling the power of a muscle car!!!What would you do???I've got hook up with a good mechanic and either way I go is not a problem for him...money is no issue either....you decide,I can't!!!

Hot rods have three pedals. Go for it.

Not that **** again...
Bet you the fastest car on most tracks has TWO(2) petals..
There was a big discussion a while back on this.

As far as what you want to do, I have been looking into it myself cause I can do it, but just haven had a reason to right now. Trans has about 25,000 miles on it and performs very well. It's not that hard. Up to you, a Stall can grab nice with the proper tires, but the M6 is fun as well.

I say go for it. The only thing an auto is good for is consistent E.T.s, they may be quicker, but whats the fun, its like bowling and starting off with a score of 50, whats the point?
I would rather have 3 pedals anyday

Do what you think you would have the most fun with. If the cars a track car, stick with the a4. Street car or cruiser, M6 might be more fun for you to drive. These threads come up all the time.

I swaped from a M6 to a TH350, and I would never think about going back. Throw a better converter in, and you will get all the "snap" as you say, of the line you want. Plus if you have 18in rims, a M6 is a sure fire way to slow the car down.

>Thanks for all your input....your right,either way it's still a v8,I've always liked my LT1,and it's a quick car....just a personal choice i guess,it won't see much track time so i'm leaning towards the m6...either way I won't be disappointed.Thanks again for the comments!
