Default LE3 350 guys

Any of you guys using an LE3 in your stock bottom end 350?

I have 4.10's and a 3200 stall like he says.

Car only gets about 1000 miles a year so yeah lol.

E-mailed LE about it over a LE2 for me.

On a stock bottom end its tough because your not going to be able to rev as high as it would like to be, this is in order to make the proper power. Often I have seen it recommend to build up the bottom end.

I thought the LE3 setup would not work on the stock bottom end due to the larger valves?

No, it will work..its just like they said..its powerband is higher than what a stock shortblock can handle. You can make up for it a little by going with an LE2 cam and the LE3 heads(it would be an LE2.5)

I am planning on a rebuild in feb, and will most likely do an LE3. I was going to do a budget 383 build on the shortblock. What do I need to do that is different from the regular build to make it handle the LE3 package, without going overboard. I am 100% positive that im going to be running without a poweradder. I am sure that the motor is going to act more like a LE2 cam since it is a 383.

A LE3 in a 383 will act like a LE2 in a 350. Just build it to handle the 6800RPM that it needs. I would go 7000 to be on the safe side.

Since the search is down AGAIN....

I am most likely going to go LE2, good ported stock heads with larger valves, ported intake ect ect.

Do you guys think a fresh A4 with a trans go, deep pan, cooler, stall, will handle that with a 150 shot or should I play it safe and have a local guy I know build it (I trust him, he put one of his 400's in a 1,400hp Nova and its holding) and not worry about it.

I figure I will be making 540rwhp on the conserative side....

Something tells me it would blow the near stock 4L60E

Would Ford 30lb red top injectors work good or do I need more?

Ok thanks,

LE e-mailed me and he no longer sells cams on their own, only with the heads...... all well.

I put up a WTB add for the LE2 on camz (more LT1 guys over there). He said with my stall and gears a CC 306 or GM 847 will work well....

I thought the LE3 was a tad larger then the 847????

I really think I will go custom grind....

Checked ou the cost of HSW's 42 pounders.... yeah I will pick some up

Ill drop him a line,

I called comp today and told them what I had and wanted. They told me 1.7 rockers, with the beehive springs (acting like that was holding me back) and did not want to spin the engine past 6200rpm said:

220/228 50 581/588

I told them I wanted super agressive and its with ported heads, 3200 stall, 4.10's... he said it was more agressive then the GM 847..... he did not ask many questions like what kind of power I am wanting or anything.....
