Default TB Bypass

So I did the TB bypass today, total I think I have under 10 bucks in it. I couldn't get the the hose off the TB that is way back there. So I pulled the line off the front of the TB and disconnected the end of the second line where it goes into the T-fitting and plugged it. From there I got a fitting and some more hose and connected the front hose to the t fitting? I got all the coolent out of TB and then plugged that one line.

I mean I can't feel an difference. I guess it is helping. Is this how any one else did it?

Throttlebody bypass doesn't make a huge difference. Does keep the incomming charge a little cooler but again not a huge differece.

You won't feel a difference, it is small, but every little bit helps. I took the one off of the Radiator and connected it direcly to that metal line on the passengers side. Costed nothing. This is a pic of my current setup, it goes directly to the Radiator.

Yeah I wasn't expecting alot, but I figure it couldn't hurt. From what I have read it is an average of 5 to 10hp gain.. supposedly.

Cool deal. When I went for a drive, it was around 5 in the middle of Charlotte. So I did alot of sitting and the motor definitly got heat soaked, and it still had plenty to get through traffic. I still need to get a some tuning issues resolved and and dyno the car again. I never got a good pull out of it when I dyno'ed with the car group.

Ok, a bit more driving on it, and replacing the hose with something that is a bit stronger and wow what a difference. The roll on power has a bit of an increase, that and it doesn't matter how long I sit in the traffic, the intake is always cool. It is amazing how much that coolant heated up the TB, elboe and manifold. I am happy with less than 10 bucks in it.

Basically make that metal line on top of the passenger side of the Intake go directly to the Radiator, instead of going to the TB, and out of that to the Radiator.

I always wonder why people capped off the openings on the throttle body after do the mod? Corrision issues with the TB?? I just left them uncapped and sticking out. I think someone posted awhile back that you can just yank the two metal tubes out.

I cut them off, wouldn't come out. They won't have any purpose after you do that, and it cleans that area up a little bit.

Man I dont think I could mine off. I wanted to leave it so if I ever needed to hook it back up, I could. I just got some plugs and did mine. The reason for pluging it are to prevent anything from getting in there. Just a general thing..

I took it all apart, and it is just a Coolant passage. What it does is warm the TB so it doesn't freeze in extreme conditions. To each their own, I chopped them.

I've had my car for about a month now and I bought it modded already. It has the TB bypass, but I was wondering for winters in the midwest if I would see any problems? Obviously I'd prefer to just leave it bypassed all the time for the extra power gain.
