Default ultra z hood help!!!

I have an ultra Z functional ram air hood on a 95z i just bought, my question is is there any way of hooking that up with a ram air intake box like on the 98 on ram air hoods? Thanks

It will work, but not without modification. I put a LS1 K&N kit on my car and aside from some grinding on the plastic radiator cover it went on pretty easy.
Heres a picture:

How much did that kit run out of curiosity? Do you have any closer pics to how you set up the tubing next to the throttlebody?

Do you mean like this one?

It may, but its hard to find any information about it. The ulta Z hood does offer quite a bit of room under the hood so its possible. My advice would be to check our the Ws6 store or SLP and look into the airbox for the ultra Z hood. Its a little pricey but at least you know that will work.

Hey while we're on this subject, I bought an Ultra Z and ram air box used so it doesn't have all the stuff with it. Where does one get that good looking material everyone uses for the rubber couplings? I'm talking about the connection from the air box to the MAF. I guess plumbing store stuff would work but I can't think of that other stuff for anything. Am I being really vague or what????? LOL

Well as long as you have all the original pieces from the stock set up then you already have what you need. The stock rubber coupler that connects the mass air meter to the plastic intake is what I used on my set up.

Hmm I believe all that stuff is long gone. I don't have the stock setup right now either.

I'd try SLP. Those aren't going to be easy to find.

just get a ram air kit off a 93-97 firebird and it will be all good. The ultra z hood is the camaro version of our OEM ram air hood.

Sorry thats the only picture I have at the moment.

I did some research and ended up buying the pieces seperate, due to the high cost of the kit from K&N. I located the filter part no. and bought it seperate from an online vendor. Unfortunately I can't recall the name at the moment. I then bought the rubber piece thats in between the filter and MAF from Baker Precision, and finished it up with a fernco plumbing fitting from the MAF to the TB. The slp bellows is said to work and would most likely look better. I believe I had about $115 in the filter, $60 in the special piece from Baker precision, and $4-5 in the fernco fitting. Roughly $200 in all.
