I had a 6 speed and swapping to a TH400 I consider one of the best mods I ever did..... If you can believe that....

I didn't really care about losing the highway driving... I had wanted to turn my car into a weekend only local cruiser anyways.... The Th400 and 4400 stall converter ate up all the choppiness in the cam making the car WAAAY more driveable... it was a big hydraulic roller.... I enjoyed the car much more with the TH400 and you can absolutely RAPE 6 speed cars off the line even if they have 250 more hp than you.....

With 650 hp on tap on a 150 shot of spray the car was ignorantly fast.... 1.52 short times and 10.40's@131 on the smallest jets in the kit (150).... that was leaving on the footbrake with a little 355 H&C...

I'll stick to my 4l60E running 10.47's. I enjoy OD.

another vote for the TH400....I am running a 700r4 currently...the TH400 is heavier but it is a stronger unit. The benefits to the th350 is it is lighter.

If I can get my raceweight down to the ~3200 range I will be putting a powerglide in mine when the 700 gives up the fight.

lol.. its amazing how many people are running that fast is this trhead alone.... All the LSx boys should take a little look.

The thing that I have seemed to grasp was the fast that build the car before the motor. You can run 10's with H/C and some nitrous no problem.

I am going a little different route than that of you guys. Tc76MPS good for.. well.. who cares..... lol... im going for the times. Im starting with a stock motor, th350 leaving on a T-brake, and suspension and seeing what I can sway. Motor will come when the LT1 go's to a better place (very quickly after I start to whip it im sure =D )

no matter what anyone says the TH400 is a stronger unit than a Th350 with parts being equal.....

Can you make a strong Th350? Yes... Will it be as strong as a similarly prepped TH400? NO..... I went with a TH400 cuz I'll have room to grow... and now since I'm setting up my car to run 8's with around 850RWHP/1000RWTQ the TH400's strength will come in handy... hell i don't even know if the Th400 will take it..... I might go with a glide if the 400 explodes....

personaly i think its cool when yhe truck can out handle the car. Plus it has a 97 vortec 350 with a blow through demon soon getting a turbo... and 20's.

then i have the 96 T/A with a Tc76MPS bolted to er...

Lets not forget teh 1970 Firebird with a big block...

Least my **** dont look JSUT LIKE EVERY OTHER CAR ON THE ROAD!!

but if you really feel like making up records to make yourself feel better.... go for it. But even so, I sitll dont think you would have the record on that...
