So what about the Mobil 1 Super Syn 15,000mi? I have never looked to see what Group it was in. I did use for over a year the Mobil 1 15W-50 Race oil, I thought the throttle responce and oil pressure was a little better running it on that

Mobil 1 is fine, many great synthetics out there, yeah in an old engine they might leak a little but not in a new or professionally built engine, seals were improved just for synthetic oil use years ago, blah blah blah...

worst oil you could probably use IMO is Pennzoil...sludge city...pos oil..and then Quaker State, they sucked few years back, sure both those oils have improved since then though.

not a full synthetic though. uses group III oils which would define it as not a true synthetic.

THE Only true synthetic oil castrol offers right now (not sure about the new Castrol Edge, etc) is the 0w30 German Made Castrol. PERIOD!!

Valvoline VR racing 20w-50 with a larger than stock AC delco filter. I have found that the AC delco filters give the best oil pressure. Currently getting my stock bottom end freshend, and I was thinking about trying out Shafers oil.

Last few Delco filters I bought have gotten VERY cheesy on the construction take a look inside and compare it to and old one if you have one around.

Think it bares not that built motor guys may need to run someting different from the rest of us if the builder set the clearances loose.

Before running 20w-50 I would think for a moment about the PLASTIC oil pump drive, not the easily replaced shaft but the drive that bolts into the back of the lifter valley.

I will second buffman's questioning of why mix 10w-30 and 5w-30 and add it shows a complete lack of understanding of what those numbers mean. I have seen analysis showing the 10w-30 to actually be THINNER. Contrary to popular belief the 10w is not comparable measurement to the 30.
