I still love mine but do get beat down spending so much money to keep up with LS1s.
Mine still have the factory paint and looks good. Need to get the new 315s coming so it will have the TTIIs all the way around for the street.
One of these days the damn thing will be fast
LT1s are definately surging. I have done more LT1 mods then LS1 mods in the last year.

I agree with this post 100%. I've kept my car nice (see the pics in sig). Back in the late 90's up untill about 2004 my area was heavily into fast cars. Lots of Mustangs, turbo cars, a few F-Bodies...Now there is really nothing. There would be times that 10 of us at once would go out for a hell ride. I miss it. To think LT1's were once a seriously dominant figure on the road.

i agree totally also. I have my '96 and when with 80K on the clock it's in ok shape. It needs paint(especially the bumpers) and i've got a SS spoiler going on. It's getting fresh paint and about 4-5 coats of clear and a good buffing. Should look like glass You don't see ANY nice LT1's around anymore. Even Ls1 car's are getting hard to find in god shape. I HATE my car even being dirty. I would like my car to go faster and i will add parts to do that but i also want it to look nice. i don't want it to be the typical beat up, run down LT1. My dad does paint so it'll be getting a freshen up this winter. Got the Racetronix pump kit going in with a new clutch and optispark. Should be running REALLY good and lookin' good with all the new parts i'm getting for it. Keep the Lt1's alive guys, the nice one's are hard to find. ~Cole~

Mine is almost paid for and I cant wait till it is. It'll be garage kept then, and I'll have some POS econo-****-box for my DD to work and what not. I never understood the concept of a weekend car when I was a little younger but, totally understand now. I might try a bigger cam or a supercharger when I eventually get to that point. Mines almost at 100K and still on factory paint. I can tell it will need it pretty soon in some spots though.
It is nice though, to pull up with a 11 year old car that looks, sounds, and runs great.

I've had my 94 since 1995. I've kept the miles low. It only has 36,000 now. And it is faster than almost all the LS1s in this area. In fact, the fastest F-bodys and Vettes around here are the LT1s, rather than the occasional fast LS1.
I've kept it true to vision, a street car with all the amenities that can drive 500 miles, race the 1/4mile for the weekend, and drive 500 miles back home. Even though the weight with me in the car is now up to 3900 pounds.
My daily driver/beater/snow car is an LS1. A 98 Formula. I do like the LS1. But why should I abandon a car which I have so much love, labor and money invested into. And cripes, try to find an LS1 F-body with only 36,000 miles.

Lets face it guys, our cars are becoming rare, kinda like a good looking 3rd gen. You just dont see many around these days.
Long live the LT1!!!!

No less, 6 LT1 fbodies later and I'm still not swayed. I'll always have an LT1 fbody in the garage but I do have plans to drive a new fbody when they finally roll out...
But it's all good. By the way, I remember you calling on new years but I have no idea what i said to you. I was in a really 'good' mood when you called

I bought my 94 new in 94, and she's got around 64k on her now. On her 4th motor, but still the original transmission (with an Ellis special shift kit).
I'll sell my 98Z and 79Z before I part ways with the 94Z. If I had to choose 1 car to keep of my 5, I'd keep the 94.

I don't have a garage to put mine in, so the paint suffers.
I need new window gaskets, hatch gasket. Both bumpers could use a repaint, and the clearcoat is starting to peel on my driver side door. A few chips out of the fiberglass on the doors edge. One small crack on the dashpad from the vent back to the rear.
Probably not in bad shape for 149k. Wish it was looking a little better, but I'm still mostly worried about making it faster than looking good, but someday it'll look as good as it goes fast.
