It had a really mean sound too on a 112LSA. It can also be emissions friendly which is also a plus. Car made 335rwhp and 340rwtq with the cc503 with MAC mids, stock heads and a PCM4Less tune.

Just my .02
Yeah I have been running the cc306 for a year and a half now, first half year was with lightly ported heads, then I got heads equivilent to le2 heads. Yes even with an m6, 3.90 gears, and tuning it still has cam surge and doesn't really comes to life until (give or take a few hundred rpms) 3k and pulls like a damn freight train until 6500+. I was going to go with a custom cam more than likely but I couldn't pass up a 1000k mile cam for $150 being a poor highschool student at the time.

you wont like the 306 even though it sounds like heaven. youll have NO torque until 3500 rpms which sucks IMO. the thing people dont realize when going with big cams on stock heads is that once you get so big with a cam, the low end power loss starts being more than the top end gain.

Im going with the XE503 (224/230) when funds allow. Ive researched this ALOT during down hours at work, and im set on my choice. This is a very good all around cam which is a bit more potent than a hotcam, but significantly milder than a 306. It makes good down low power, and can rev to 6500 if you want it to. Its availible in a 110,112, and 114 grinds. Im going to go with a 110 lsa because i want it to chop good like you do, so that would be my recommendation. And to further illustrate my point about the uneven gains and losses with big cams, ive heard of 224/230 cars taking down 306 cars on the street. (both having stock heads). i dont know about you but i like my torque

I have had the 306 cam for a yr. now. I love it, but it isn't really a fun dd car. the brakes go to hell. need to run a vacmuum cannister. will have surging. will lose tq. down low. but there is one thing to fix that. a 3500-4,000 stall. but if I had it to do all over again, I prob. would of went with the cc503 on a 110lsa. I love my tq. and now I miss mine...so in my opinion I would run a 503 cam on a 110-112 lsa. it will be a much better dd cam.

I think you need to do a little more research and figure out what kind of setup you want for your car, since the hotcam and 306 are incredibly different and really shouldn't even be considered in a comparison except for totally different applications.

I really like my 503. It was the cam that comp cams told me to use with the modifications that I told them i had. I wouldn't have went any other way.

You would like the 503 alot better than the 305, more lope and it will make more power than the 305 at any RPM.

go back and re-read my post about the 503. to answer your question, it does daily drive well because it makes its power via its high lift. On the other hand, the latter tends to be abusive on valvetrain, so i wouldnt expect the setup to last FOREVER like a stock LT1 would. you cant really expect that with any cam setup though. (a 306 would definitely be worse)

heres a thread with a couple videos so you get an idea of the sound of the 110 grind:

I had 120,000 miles on my motor when i swapped in the 503. With stock heads and manifolds it ran great.
