I still have my old block that spun some bearings on. i was gonna do a 383 with it soon as i get my car going, but if you need it i can it let go for cheap.
I appreciate the offer, but shipping would probably be higher than the block. I still have my stock block if i decide to go that route though. I would love to be able to fix this one though because it's already been bored and has 4-bolt mains. Gonna wait to see what the previous owner is gonna do, or see if he's even gonna help me out at all.

Yeah but he could be a dick about it and not do anything. But the way it's lookin, i talked to our middle man and he called some machine shops and asked them about it and just so happens one machine shop close to us has a lot of experience fixing cracked blocks and the previous owner is willing to pay for it. If it isn't fixable, then we're gonna have to figure out something else, but it seems he's willing to help as much as possible.

Well sounds like all your parts are probably ok. When I took the motor out of the Z I acquired, I knew it had a blown head gasket and had been driven at least 5 miles that way. After I got everything apart, I looked at the main and rod bearings and it all looked good. So be relieved you don't have to get your crank turned or anything like that!
