The Radiator sits back about 1.5" more than stock, no problems with anything. It runs at the same 185*. I unbolt the 2 metal pieces, and take the Clamp off of the MAF, and it comes off.

With the stock hood, it does not seem like the Lid gets alot of air.
Without the Ultra Z hood, or a way to get the Lid more air, id rather have a CAI.

the ultra z hood would be putting the air on top of the lid.the air needs to come up from the bottom like it already does with a stock hood.

I could be wrong here but, I think you've got it all wrong. Like said above, the ultra Z hood gets the air from the top and would work fine but, the LS1 lid setup takes the air from the high pressure spot created by the airdamn (intended to force more air through the radiator when moving). By opening a 'hole' there it lets some of that forced air go up and throught the filter and in. A normal CAI kit takes the air from the low spot in front of the driver side wheel where there is no pressure built up at all and basically relies totally on the intake vacuum.

Look at it, it is basically like a Vacumn.. and there is a continuous supply of cold air right there infront of the Radiator.
