simptoms of arcing in the distributer
I haven't heard of an OPTI doing that..not saying it couldn't, never heard of that with these cars. It's just how it is designed.

I hope he is referring to a Mechanic that he asked or someone else. If not, someone should explain what a Forum is for. I am being nice too, I only built my Engine, Suspension, most of the Drive Train, Brakes..you get the idea..

Oh sorry i didnt relize that i didnt say that the gm mechanic that i took my car to said it wouldnt start, and was running like **** if by chance it did start, it was because of arcing in the distributer.
Sorry i thought i had said that thats why i said do you think he was lieing?
I also have a thread on this that says something like (im willing to bet not many of you have ever herd of this before(starting problem)) with more detailed explanation of the problem. I quit getting replys thats why i started this thread.

I had bought a brand new opti off ebay and a week later there was arching on my water pump, i thought it was the coil wire. Turns out there was a small break in the seam of the cap and it was arching on my water pump. So it IS possible.
