Removing Cat? Yeah i know this is going to sound stupid but anyways my one cat has internally fallen apart...and is making the worst sound i have ever heard in my life...but neways i was thinking about cutting it out and straight piping it...because currently i have my headers in the garage but no Y pipe and no real time to put it all on...Also i am waiting to for my mechanic to get LT1 tuning software because ive heard once you throw on LT's and ypipe and delete egr it throws all kinds of codes on the rear o2 and needs to be deleted...anyways my question is if i straight pipe the one cat as a temporary fix...will it throw codes? And also does anybody have a Pacesetter Y-pipe lying around...willling to sell it? anyways let me know about the codes thanks alot i appreciate it...I just cannot deal with this rattling noise from the cat any longer! 
Since your car is a 97, it will throw codes with the stock cat gone. Nothin bad will happen, only a service engine soon light.
Same thing with your headers waiting to be installed. You don't need to wait for the mechanic to get LT1 software. You'll just have the SES light on.

Allright sweet Prolly should just throw the headers on...find a ypipe...its just that someone told me the car will run super rich if i dont tune my comp...hey also does anyone know about clears out tailights? or at least point me in some direction thanks
You talking about taking out the red film in the taillights so they are clear? There is a writeup somewhere around here.

I know http://speed-eng.com has them, not sure if they are the cheapest. Check out summitracing.
There are a few things you need that I'm not sure you realize. Nothin big, but it adds up (i.e. 12'' and 24'' o2 entension) Search threads that say exactly what is needed. In fact, search through my really old thread I made, says all you need.

sims? haha.. just tune the codes out. You'll have a SES light anyway for removing EGR stuff.
