How bad did you rip it..if you put it back up in bolted position, does the seal go back to where it originally was?

I ripped on the driver side of the motor, I think I might have to take out almost all of the oil pan bolts just to get the timing cover back in.

****, if you raise the motor a little, you can replace it while you are there...

I did the same thing do h/c on my LT1

I ripped a full 6" piece off the front, stock pan. I put RTV on both sides and all around and as far as I know its still holding up, atleast 20k miles for me and the new owner on nitrous, lol.

Make sure to get all the oil off you can before RTVing it. I did the same thing replacing the timing chain in a guys Z71 last year, it still holding. Good luck.

Ok so I got the timing cover back on and RTV'ed the oil pan seal back. Now I have a new problem. So we got the motor back in the car and now my fuel rail is leaking fuel when I key up. I havent even gotten to start the car yet. Its leaking where fuel rail cross over meets the driver side fuel rail. I put another o-ring in there that I had laying around but I dont think its the right one. But the o-ring that was in there wasnt ripped, so what happened to the old o-ring?

Check the little piece of metal that is kinda holding that line. The should be a little screw on it also. Make sure that it is flush with the Rail, make sure both sides are. Here is how you do it, take the Rails on the Intake and kinda push them toward each other with your hands, it will tighten them up.
