Default why me?

Well I figured I would change my coolant today because i was not sure how much was water and how much was coolant. (slow leak in system) I go to open radiatior valve at bottom and drain it. (keep in mind that half of the plastic tab has been broken off the valve due to it being brittle plastic) I go to tighten it down and think it is tight well it was leaking from underneath again by the valve. I have tried numerous ways to get it to stop leaking. I am sure that it is not cracked. I dont have much to grip to turn on it. I have to have this car running by tommorow because it is my daily driver. I am freaking out now.

The whole point of doing this is it is going to freeze tonight. Now I cant drive my car because of trying to avoid a potential problem.

GM can really suck my ***** for making that valve completely out of plastic.

Go to the parts store and buy another one, cant be more than a couple bucks.
Most are the same size for most cars. Hopefully thats whats leaking and not the radiator itself.

Yeah sorry I guess you could call that a rant under pressure. I had no idea they sold those at the parts store. I was just trying to get it done, and it was getting colder and colder. If I did not have a ride to my clinical site tommorow I would miss my orientation which would be really bad.

On a side note it had no grips to get the plug back out, and it was a PITA. I am just tired of all the plastic sometimes. It was 2.70 at autozone.

And your right it could be worse, It just seems like im plagued every time i try to do anything to my car lately.

join the club man, nothing goes smoothly, your buying parts made by the lowest bidder to go on something made by machines produced by the lowest bidder. take a deep breath, grab a beer, scratch your ***** and chill. itll get done. how do you think i feel, i work on helicopters at a naval air station... you wanna talk about some parts that dont quite fit or some cheeply made plastic bullshit... i know all about it, to the tenth degree

Same thing happen to me when I was doing my water pump and opti last summer. I went to turn it and the plastic just snapped off. My dad always told that when things start to get difficult and you start to get pissed off. Just take a break, grab a drink and cool off(or warm up) before you break somthing. Everytime I do that whatever I was having problems with goes easy when I try it again.
