Default Exhaust decision

I currently have a basic 3" Flowmaster catback on my Z28, but I would like to get some more power, and a louder sound. The sound of the Flowmaster is good to me, but here are my choices:

1. Spend ~$450 on an SLP Loudmouth I system.
2. Spend ~$450 on a set of Pacesetter Longtubes and Y-pipe (welding the cat into the stock location on the new y-pipe and keeping the Flowmaster).

I know both will make the car louder, but which will give me the most performance gains for the track?

Longtubes for the most power, slp for the better sound!

just get the longtubes, once you have longtubes your sound will be a lot better. get the SLP if you like the raspy popping nasty sound. if you just want it loud, then get a cut-out. they are way cheaper.

I would get longtubes and then a $30 cutout. That way at the track you don't have to worry about the catback slowing you down and on the streets you can still have the nice sound of the flowmaster. Longtubes FTW!

Can't, at least not while I'm still registered in Gwinnett County (emissions = sniffer).

Longtubes. They will give you the most power and change the sound of your flowmaster.

Definitely Longtubes. Don't get a loudmouth. I had one on my 96 t/a and it was just annoying loud. Im not saying it was too loud, it was just annoying because it popped, crackled and sounded like ****. IMO if your goin for exhaust i rank them according to sound this way...magnalfow,gmmg,borla
