Default You Gotta Love Tax Time!!!!!

just did the taxes for this year and i'm going to find out in a week how fast a man with a summit catalog and the internet can vaporize 8500 bucks!!!!!

So as a little update on my progress in about a week i'll have everything to get my car back in action for this spring.... stuff i'm gonna buy to finish her up goes like this:

MSD crank trigger
MSD low profile crab cap dist
nitro daves standalone 1 gallon fuel sys (for n2o)
madman manual rack
madman low mount alt kit
heman long tubeheaders 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8 3.5" collectors jet hot coated
double adj afco rear shocks
accufab 1300cfm vertical mount carb
converter being sent out for restall
50 lb injectors

that's it for now besides dropping off the rest of the cash for the machine work on the motor and assembly... engine builder says I can pick up my motor 2nd to 3rd week of february..... I'd like to be making passes at least on the motor come april or so once i get the tune down....

all the other crap not on this list is done and paid for.... fuel sys and engine mgmt is done as well as gauges, electrical system, and suspension (except for rear shocks)..... got to take some time with a few brake lines but other than that she's ready to roll..... i think i gotta buy a hood too.....

I hate tax time, it reminds me how much $$ I have to pay the government throughout the year. I could take that money and double it in a year rather than let uncle sam **** off with it.

Congratulation on the summit shoping spree.

I owe uncle sam 500 bucks so much for LCA and getting my headers coated. My employer botched imputing the numbers from my tax form when i first started working and the gov't did not get there fair share during the year.
I guess the ideal during tax time is to break even right?
you owe nothing and they owe you nothing (you've been able to keep that extra money through out the year.)

Well i'm in the air force and i'm a loadmaster (enlisted aviator).... I go to Iraq usually 6-10 months out of the year and get tax free for that month if i'm there in Iraq for a few hours.. (actually only need to get in the airspace but we land in baghdad)..... So how it works is the tax law states that I can include my tax free income or choose not to include my tax free income when doing Earned income credit calculations... of course I choose the "do not include" tax free income because the less you make the more your EIC amount goes up.... so being married with two kids and getting the child tax credit (2000 right there) and my taxable income of zero (my deductions are more than my taxable income since i go to iraq at least 6 months out of the year) i get all the taxes i paid in back in addition to the child tax credit and EIC off the friggin chart.... hence 8500 bones back......

thanks for the kudos. i can't wait till the **** starts coming in...

I could but I don't think a stock LS2 is gonna be capable of 8's..... unless I drop another 10-15 large into it....

well you sell the engine you have now, drop an ls2 in it supercharged with a big *** cam and headers and youll be close to it. haha but hell its your dough. Oh and you can get an ls2 and a m6 tranny for 8500 so im sure just an ls2 you could get for under 5. As soon as i can get 10k thats my plan.

Whew $8500. I got back just under $600 and I paid in over $3000. Must be nice. So anyway, I bought a set of LS6 heads, new, stage 2 port job for my upcoming turbo project. I'm picking up a 6.0 iron shortblock next week for $350.

HAHAHAHAH sell the motor I have now???? well generally when you sell something you're only gonna get half of what you have in it if you want to move it.... So basically my motor that has taken about 12K of my cash is now worth 6K to someone else. So I just burned 6 grand without ever starting the motor. not really a good economic decision... maybe if i was heading to the poorhouse and had no other choice......

Besides my LT1 with a big old honkin cam without a supercharger is gonna make as much power as that LS2..... i've got a gigantic set of heads on her.. no need to swap to an LS2. is it a better motor. yeah. but i don't need one that bad.... 1000hp on two kits with my lil old 383 inch LT1 will be enuff for me...

I am looking into a LSX swap, hence the new block. I just got my Harness built for it. I am looking into building a 408 C.I.D. LS6 and dropping it in the Z. That will be a nice setup in that little LT1 car..

That's not necessarily my reason for getting it.. I just want to see if I can get one in there and get it running, then mod the hell out of it..

enough money and you can do anything..... but selling a motor i have never started or used is financially not smart....... seeing as how cars are already the worst investment you can get into....
