I don't think you need more cam, just the right cam.
The thing you will see the most is just much much more midrange and getting that TQ number up there. 400rwhp isin't that hard and is normal with the LE2 cam, a LE3 cam would want lots more RPM.
What you are showing with the charts is either the cc306 and a little bit of valve control or a little bit of a issue with the head ports not wanting to turn the RPM.
What are the valvesprings here?
Bret

You are the first person I have ever heard say something negative about the hydra rev kit. Why take it out?
The Beehives came on the car, on the MMS heads. They have about 60k on them now.

You just don't need both..... do a search over here and on camaroz28.com on them and you'll learn a good amount.
Ok, so why are you asking about LE3's? You have MMS heads? and a CC306 cam?
The LE3 cam is for more RPM than the CC306.
You COULD have the beehives setup wrong or the lower pressure beehives that's why you are getting the problems you are having.

OK Bret,
Check this out. I'm not sure you read this entire post.
I am assuming everything was installed correctly because the first time it was dynoed (graph posted, its the last one) it ran good (386rwhp/360rwtq) and produced peak power at 6350 rpms.
Since then ( 6 years later, 57k miles)
I have went from shorty headers to longtubes, a stock intake elbow to a trickflow, a stock ignition setup to an MSD 6A and coil...basically I should have added about 10rwhp or so at peak I would think.
NOW here I am, producing 2 rwhp more at peak, and 21 rwtq at peak, BUT the power is falling off past 6000 rpm as opposed to the previous dyno.
SO I picked up planty of low end power, which I was expecting, but I figured that with the help of the LT's, I would have seen more of a gain at higher rpm.
MAKE SENSE?
So my question for you Bret:
Is this problem merely a mileage issue, or do you think something has happened in the past 6 yrs that would have caused this?
It is not a huge issue, and it's really not a big deal, the car runs just great. I am just baffled at the fact that I added components that should in theory have made my motor make more top end power, when I in turn lost a few hundred rpm.
Keep in mind that I am not trying to go for the LE3 cam just because I want bigger, but because I definately know that the CC306 is a bit outdated. I am not asking about LE3 heads, I am asking about the cam.
I would like to get this motor over 400rwhp as it sits, but if I don't, no biggie. I am planning on a nice shortblock in the future, as well as a cam upgrade, i.e. LE3.
Thanks for you time and help-

Yeah.... most likely if you haven't changed valvesprings thats your answer. 6 years ago you wouldn't have installed springs with good enough spring wire to last that long. Today we have those springs at a decent price, plus 6 years is a LOT of time on a set of aftermarket valvesprings.
The LE3 cam isin't needed to get you over 400rwhp and pick up the TQ numbers more, I would think the LE2 cam would do that fine with springs to match.... if you need that shoot me a PM or e-mail.

Thanks Bret, I'll be getting ahold of you for the cam soon.
