Default Weird starting problem.

It has been dicussed that my injectors might be a tad on the small side, and im running slightly lean..

Lately when i have been starting the car it will die out the 1st try, then say on the 2nd try.

Last night it died out the 1st 2 times and once it was on, when i would accelerate from a stop it would want to die unless i clutched in to about 3k and worked the clutch out slow to take off normal..

i might try letting the fuel pump prime longer next time i start the car and maybe that will help it fire up. but im confused about the taking off part. maybe the fact it was cold out, like sub 20's and i hadnt started it all day....

any thoughts?

i can let it warm up if that will help it, but then the 1st problem of it staying started...maybe i should let the pump prime longer...and also sometimes it seems like when its at idle it want to die out a bit, the idle will kinda fluxuate from around 700/800 to 1100/1200

Might be the Fuel Pump shitting out, not your Injectors. Stock Injectors are alright..they will run. Could be a clogged Fuel Filter also..

their not stock injectors their 30's. and the fuel pump is aftermarket too.

however twice i have ran the tank to pretty low. 1st time was when i got it, gas gauge is broke and i thought he filled it up, started bucking on the highway got off quickly and filled up too like 13.x gallons. then the other day, gauge still broke it was buckin a bit when i was going down the road so i went straight to the gas station and got it filled, again took 13.x gallons.

each time, when i felt it studder it was no more than a mile or 2 that i got gas in it. think thats enough to overheat it? even in cold weather?

You mean overheating the Pump? It's not good to run these things low on Gas, it will kill it. I am thinking that's the problem, but change the Filter out if you change anything while you are there, easy to do.

alright went out there 2night, last time i drove it was last night about 9pm.

again died out a few time then finally stayed on but idled like crap.

battery gauge was all over the place, would go wayyy low, idle would drop and lights would dim. it would stay that way for a few seconds or a minute then go back up to normal. seemed the warmed it got the better it got.

does that sound like a fuel filter issue? or maybe a battery issue. also for what its worth, i went and turned the heater from defrost to off and the idle dropped alot too, and actually when it was cold the car idled better with the defroster on.

i dont think the battery light came on but the needle definitely went wayyy in the red and the lights dimmed and the idle dropped. its a yellow top too so im suprised its possibly messed up.

they got some sorta warranty on those things or what, that are expensive as hell and it already might be messed up!

no the opti shouldnt be the problem. thats usually issues up top once the car is warm. it drives fine as is gets warmer its something to do with after it has been sitting and has gotten cold.
