Stripper Hardtops come in..

But you ask if it's worth it??? yeah I still have a 1LE and it's one of 106 built that year..... your trans am is probably like one of 10,000 no diss intended believe me but they're not at all rare..... so the rarity of the model makes it worth it to me..... a 1LE car could be worth BIG money someday to a collector..... look at true SS Camaro's from the 60's.... or better yet yenko's.... or the factory big block cars of which very few were made.... who knows what the world will be like in like 2040..... a 1LE might be worth hundreds of thousands to the right person.....
I hear what you're saying about it being worth money someday, I just thought a stripped down car might be a good bit faster.
But ya, I already have a stripped down bare bones '69 Cougar with a custom color combo unavailable to the public (Quicksilver/Black). Some Mercury dealer ordered it for his daughter back in the day.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
As it sits now it weighed in at 3340 without me (180) and over a half tank of gas. Can't wait to actually really lighten it up eventually
. Hardtop, M6, manual windows and locks, cloth seats. Options were I think Bose system, A/C, and thats about it. I loved everything about that car.
At 5'11" I can't reach over to close the passenger window without unbuckling my seat belt and leaning way over.I had power windows in both my 3rd gens, I kinda do miss the power windows.

Anyone know if I would have to replace the window tracks also or would the electric motors hook up to whats in there now???

If you pull the Door Panel off and find the rivets for the main control bracket, look around them, and you will see little indentations. There are 4 of these in the form of a rectangle. To remove the Manual stuff, you have to drill them out, and get the Manual Crank and Arm setup out of it, then replace that with the Electric Motor and Arm Assembly. Then it bolts directly to the bottom of the Window. The only problem you will have is getting power to it, but if you have a way, then got for it. It was easier to go from Electric to Manual, took out all the junk and all the wires.
