Depends on what you are doing. Look into a LS1 swap, you have everything setup already in the Car for it. That and the aftermarket for the LS1 is plentiful and cheaper. I am looking into putting a LSX into a LT1 Car, and I had to modify and re-wire part of the LS1 Harness I got. Yea, anything is possible...

No -- the 4L60E that is 98+ with the LS1 cars has a different bellhousing and input shaft from the 4L60E that came with the LT1 cars. All said and done it'd probably be about the same to put a LS1 in the car. The LS1 will take a lot less custom work however.

To add on this also, the LS1 4L60E is different from the 3.8L version, make sure you don't get the V6 Tranny. I say this cause I seen someone try it..

not to be a party pooper here lol but i think it would be less costly and more convenient to just sell the v6 with the blown motor and look into buyin a lt1 f body. if you really look around you can get one with around 100k miles on it for around 3gs

That will fit easily considering it already has the capibility to put a lt1 in it. Go for it.
