I like how they don't even list their est. HP increase in the description.

It looks like the price has changed as well. Two weeks ago, they had it priced at $537.95.

+1. I've been saying that since the beginning. Once people start putting these things to real world tests and finding out that the HP increase isn't worth all the hype, their saving grace could be to market it to people who just want more bling under the hood.

Having polished 3 stock intakes myself and knowing firsthand the amount of hell one must go through to make them shine, I would happily spend $400.00 to be able to avoid that process again.

Another thing I was thinking is that it may only be a matter of time until the company Professional Products rips off this design and starts making carbon copies of it. Professional Products seems to offer just about everything they produce in a polished finish: so if there are guys who're just after something with more "bling," that could be another option. Their "Typhoon" LS1 intake, which is a ripoff of the Weiand aluminum LS1 intake is just about half the price of the Weiand. So even though the Edelbrock intake is $400.00 now, if PP follows their usual formula , Edelbrock may be forced to drop their price in the future to stay competitive.

I just sent a detailed email to their efi tech dept and will see if I get a response in the next day or so. I put the ball in their court saying there is a wide group of us wanting to know about this intake and the improvements they are seeing (real world) over the stock LT1 intake.

I will post up with the findings.

Hp gains dont seem to good then I really think there best bet for this would be with the endurshine a lot of people are not going to shell out $400 for that little HP but if it came polished I think a lot more people would want it. I would love to have an edurashine air gap LT1 manifold and i will wait till they make it to get ride of mine.

Been so long ago I don't remember, what did my LT4 intake cost from Summit? They were like $250 right? I know they sell for more now but back when GM and everyone sold them what did they go for?

Dirt cheap. I don't remember anymore either, but they were really cheap.
Yeah I like how everyone thinks the LT4 intake is worth $1000 now, I'm going to blame Barret Jackson or something. Who is going to care if its a real LT4 intake down the road? GM must have produced a **** ton of them in the time they were on the market.

When I spoke to an Edelbrock rep in August, he said the LT1 intake is more or less a stock replacement, only gaining about 7 hp. He said it is supposed to have more material on the runners for porting and plenem is at least same as stock. The LT4 version is supposed to have larger ports, matched to the larger 195cc LT4 head ports (supposedly the stock LT4 intake has same size runners as LT1 intake?), so more gains are supposed to be with that intake over stock.

Buddy thinks I paid around $250 bucks for it which sounds right, can't believe they go for $1k on Ebay.

$1000?!! How much more would a sheet metal intake cost that performs 10x better?

Depending, but generally about $2k from what I've seen. I still think the SuperVic outperforms a custom sheetmetal intake based on the runner/plenum locations, it's always a debate though. $1200 for a custom EFI SuperVic..
