Default Someone Please Help!

Everytime I hit the gas in 4th, 5th, 6th gear in a low rpm the car just starts to shake really bad and seems not to be picking up any speed; And also the car is lacking power. Now I just had my distributor, spark plugs & Wires changed so obviously it's not none of them. if anybody have any ideas or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

The Car is a 1997 Camaro Z28 M6

what do you consider a low rpm? and what speed are you goin? obviously if you punch it in 4th doin 30mph its going to shake and such and that goes with the other gears too.

just make sure your actually at the right rpm to be getting on it in that gear, and if ur at a low rpm in any gear really you shouldnt just punch it, its not an auto....YOU have to downshift, before it will accelerate.

Thought you said you had new wires? A different brand won't help, unless one got damaged. It's real easy to crack a new plug during install. That would cause it to miss and shake like that. GM evidently didn't build these cars to be worked on.

Good luck, Ed

Also make sure you have the plug wires fully installed. Don't ask how I know

did you put them on yourself? did it do the same thing before the plugs/wires/distributor?

one time when i put plugs on my car i had dropped one (very easy to do) and i later found out the reason my car was acting similar to yours was that the spark plug i dropped and installed was cracked.........

It did the same thing right before I had the wires changed and after that it stopped; then about two weeks later it started back. So now it's making me lean towards putting better wires on it. I ordered the MSD w/HEI; super Conductor 8.5mm wires and I was wondering if anybody know if these wires would work with the stock distributor?
