After spending a couple of hours tearing into my mess, I have found that I will be spending some money..
The Ring and Pinion in the Rear are both stripped with chunks of the teeth missing on both, and something in the Transmission is broken, I can hold the Driveshaft while someone is pressing the gas in Drive. It took a hit..
Now I am just sitting back and pricing things out. I might possibly sell the POSI in it now and upgrade to a 12 bolt while I am here cause I have to re-build it anyways. No damage was done to the Carrier or any of them components, if anything it worked very well to kill the Gears. Engine is fine, no damage there. As far as the Tranny, I might build the other motor that I am wanting to do, and get a new Tranny in it, and have that one built up. Then take my LT1, and drop that into something, or sell it.
If anyone has any parts or know where to get them, let me know..

Man that sucks bro,

I had a pinion bearing go out a couple years back, I kept hopeing and praying that it wasnt something worse, and finally when I got in there I was so happy just to see the pinion bearing was bad.

Well good luck with the build up, I want a 12 bolt too.

You probably broke the sprag in the transmission. It's very common to kill it when you grenade the ring gear.

well sorry to hear it but when my trans went out i went with perforabuilt cheapiest i could find and they offer a 1 year warranty .1200 for a new trans and 2000 stall guaranteed up too 500rwhp look in the automatic trans section and check them out

You have a picture of what this looks like? It will shift through the Gears with the Selector no problem, and the lever on the side of the Trans is not jammed at all. I am just trying to narrow it down, I know I need to pull it out.

damn I know what ur going through... my posi came out in pieces and replaceing the ring and pinion anyways just to make sure. Replacing with an auburn and a set of motives. After this one it 12 bolt time for me

I already got an Auburn Pro Series in it, with a Motive Shim Kit. I think I am upgrading to Richmond Gears, and getting another one of them Shim Kits cause I might need new Bearings after all that. Supposively that Pro Series is supposed to handle 500HP/TQ, so I an getting the Tranny re-built with a 3000 Stall, and I'll see how long that will last. It was tough enough to blow the Gears up..

my last rear end on lasted me 7 runs with all new stuff. Moser Axles, Master Rebuilt kit, New Ring and Pinion, New Heavey Duty Torsen.
