it appears that way. 10.199 is really really slow. Those 60ft times aren't helping you.

10.199 is slow in the 1/8th. Not to worry though.Work on your reaction - go as the last yellow bulb goes off, and you'll cut a much better light. Work on your 60', because thats one of the most important things in drag racing. Work on rowing your gears more efficiently.
Practice makes perfect!!! Keep at it, and you'll get better and better
You said you had fun, and thats the most important thing!!! Be safe!

Your R/T has nothing to do with your ET...Just work on your launch to get your 60's down...What was your mph? That'll tell you if you are having motor issues...

The only 1/8 mile racing I do is the first half of a 1/4...basically - I don't know alot about times/mph for the 1/8 other than whats fast, and whats slow. It seems like you had a decent mph (I don't know what LS1's/LT1's trap in the 1/8) so why the bad time? Did you miss a shift or something?

He needs to work on the fundamentals of launching the car and getting his 60's down, and making a clean pass. Then he can work on the tree...I'd rather be slow off the tree with a clean pass and good 60' than a perfect light with a 2.6 60'..

Why the bad time??? Im thinking it has alot to do with the 2.6 60'...Isnt the general rule if you cut a tenth off the 60' it's 2 tenths on the big end? I know thats not perfect but hell if you had a 2.0x 60' you would be in the 9's...

I didn't see his 60' before. Alan, I know he needs to learn the fundamentals of launching the car first. I was saying E-*******-VENTUALLY he'll wanna learn to improve his RT.

No, that MPH isn't decent.

No, he doesn't have an LS1.

Nice...I didn't see eventually anywhere in your post...I wasn't trying to be an *** but there are many who believe that your R/T has an effect on your ET...Your above post was extremely helpful...

Matty - I now see he has a 96 Green Z. For future reference, whats a good time/trap speed for the 1/8th (in a stock LS1)

Alan - Sorry. I honestly thought you were trying to a smart ***. I apologize.
I am not one of the people who think rt's have something to do with an et.

Do you have plastic tires? Holy **** 2.6 60ft is your #1 enemy. You need stickier tires my friend and probably more. But if your having fun then it's all good , I was not John Force my first time out either. I ran a 14.5 @ 89 mph lol! Got it to 14.0 @99 mph in stock form. A4, 2:73's!

Grnmonster,
If you racing at Perris in SoCal on Friday, I was the guy in the other green LT1.

If you are one street tires, make sure you do a good burnout, roll through the water and start your burnout at the very front edge of the waterbox so you don't throw water up into the wheelwells. That will help your 60' time. With your M6, break down and get a line lock to allow you to do a good burnout. I power brake until I have smoke rolling out of the back of the car, ride it out of the water and instantly stage. No dry hops. Just my $.02

Yea, that 60ft is the killer right there, get that down and you will be money. How does the car feel in general, you were saying it loses a little power every now and then. I get on averave a 1.98 60', and it gets about a 8.3@92+ in the 1/8th. I have a few more things done, but you should be in the low 9's with a trap speed in the 80's.

^^^ You're going to not want to do big burnouts on street tires. If you need stickier tires get some drag radials. Street tires are only meant to be cleaned off, not heated up..

YOU, MY FRIEND, ARE AN IDIOT!!! No where in Alan's post did it appear he was trying to be a smart ***. Why can't this be kept civil. Yes, eventually he will need to work on his reaction time but, that is the least of his problems. His 60' times suck and with that 1/8th mile, he is making a high 15 or low 16 second pass. Either he does need to work on his driving or, his car is having some serious issues.
