Fuel pressue issue...NEED HELP ASAP!!
Fuel pressue issue...NEED HELP ASAP!! When the key is in the start posistion the fuel pressure guage says "41psi" for about a second then it will drop down to zero, i tested this on my dads SS and his held the PSI at 41 and it didnt drop. So what is causing my fuel to release all pressue?

fuel pressure reg or leaky injector. pull the vaccuum line off of the reg and look for gas, if any comes out u have a bad reg. u can also pull up the fuel rail and injectors, pressurize the system and check for leaky ones.
Fuel pressure regulator is either screwed up or you have an injector stuck open. Pull the dipstick and see if the oil smells real strong of gas if it does it could be a bad injector and if so change oil right away as it is VERY hard on the internals to run with the oil thined out by gas.
The pump will come on and prime for a few seconds but unless you start the engine it will shut off but it should hold the pressure in it for an hour or more if everything is working right. Could be either one how is the car running does it miss or is it running ok. Does it smell like its running really rich???
If it is an injector sticking it could cause the rest of the cylinders to lean out because of an improper o2 sensor reading due to the extra fuel being dumped in. This is also a bad thing. If it is bleeding off that fast you really should fix it asap as it could cause you more problems down the road.
