Engine won't start

97 LT1, sometimes will start and die in a couple of seconds and then will not start. Has gotten worse in past couple of days.

Check fuel pressure. Any codes??

I have not checked codes, but I can smell the fuel as it turns over. I have replaced the fuel relay under the kick panel and the MAP sensor with no change.

check opti if it stared skipping or cutting out before it got this bad

When it started it would hesitate then run fine, and has even backfired a couple of times when it started getting bad.
