I have the custom billet core cam.
AI has proprietary cam lobes, so even if you bought a cam with the same duration and lift #'s from any given supplier, you would not get the same results.

So the cam that they list with their head packages isn't a comp custom grind? Instead, it's just any off the shelf cam you want?

No It means that AI has the own cam lobes so it is truly a 1 off custom i think. either way I am going with there 200cc heads and custom billet core cam for my 355 buld

The 190 and 200cc AI packages include the billet proprietary cam. The cast Comp is only standard on the 185cc package but you can upgrade that too.

I am running a AI billet cam and am happy I sprung for that upgrade as last year when I bought it was not standard.

Yes, AI has their own cam lobes. So it is truly a 1 off custom.
A "custom grind" comp cam is like a custom meal at the drive through. You pick and choose lobe types according to what they have available.

Ok, so they have a list to choose from or will they choose them according to what you want out of the car? (i.e. max power, area under the curve or drivability, etc.)

Yes as with most custom cams you tell them how you want to run what rpm you are going to spin to what type of rear gears and tires what size stall or M6, and if you plan on using it for DD street strip or all out race then they chose the lobes that will work best with your motor build type head specs and how you will be using the car.

That pretty much sold me there a 4100# car going 11s. I have a hard-top formula with ac deleted along with some other things and I want to hit at least 11s in my 355 build.

Exactly.

Sadly, most of the phone tech people lack relavent experiance. They are well intentioned and friendly, but it's hit or miss.

You must choose...... but choose wisely. You should not have any trouble going 11's with a 355 in a full weight car.
