iron heads??
iron heads?? how many of you guys are running the iron heads? whats everybodys opinions on the iron heads? i have the iron heads but the low compression is making me think about spending the money on the aluminum heads unless the iron head flow will make up for it. preferably would like to hear from people who have ran the iron heads. thanks everybody
"conventional wisdom" if there is such a thing says that aluminum allows/requires up to one full point more compression. Do not get all worried about the measly .4 less compression you have with iron heads.
If looking to keep things mild they will do just fine.
If looking to make serious power then swap to the aluminums to take advantage of the R&D that has been put into getting the most out of those.
I know of a couple people that had irons heavily ported and after a few YEARS of use they cracked this would not be a problem with mild work.
