Default What converter?

i'm planning buying a converter for LT1 and i was considering my options, what would be the best brand and stall speed for my setup, and also is it better to get a cam and then get the converter. is fuddle racing any good?

PI, Fuddle, Yank are good...there are others..I say get the converter first..your gonna need it depending on the cam you get. I have a TCI 3800. I think it does pretty good considering the 1.5 sixty foots.

I have done 1.614 60 ft with a 3400 Edge with just 3.73s in back, hope to make that high 1.5s this spring, consider this pig is 4000lbs without my 200lbs carcass.

Edge will continue to get all my buissiness for the forseeable future but Yank and Vigilante are good converters too.

Fuddle and TCI I hear mixed results on considering what a failed TC will do to a transmission, not a good part to gamble on.

The sig says you are doing a blower??? If so you will want to keep the stall fairly low to utilize the torque the blower will make.
I know Edge builds their converters to order after you talk to the Andre, Yank I believe is rather custom too.

Like I said Edge Yank and Vig are definetely good. Heard mixed reviewxs on Fuddle and TCI.

If budget is the issue I think Fuddle and TCI are both $4xx, Edge $525, Yank and Vig are $700+ because of billet covers which add like $200 to the pricetag, nice but unnecessary.

The reason Edge comes in cheaper than Yank or Vig is they do not have the billet cover, this makes them lighter too and they do not have strenght issues .

Edge gets number one choice based on price/quality/custom. Yank is without a doubt a top quality and truely custom price is the only thing that makes them my second choice. Vig is good but like I said not as custom and they come in at a similar to Yank price making them third choice.

go yank or vigilante. those are pretty damn expensive though. if you have a reputable transmission shop around your way (by reputable i mean they have a lot of years in the business and they built some converters for some serious high horse applications) have them build you one. i went with a shop here in ny that builds converters for some ihra guys and has a car of their own. they built me a great converter and it wasn't 900 bux.

the only thing is that everyone who gets a converter usually wants bigger after they get used to their stall.

definitely go EDGE...i just ordered mine from them and andre was extremely knowledgeable and is custom builidng mine for the car and the cam im using with all my bolt ons and the such..he is building a 3000-3200 for me...i was gonna go with TCI but i read so many different stories about them failing and destroying trannies...i couldnt afford a yank or a vigilante...edge was a great compromise and i think i will be very happy
