I have a 95 z auto with 3.73 not concerned about gas but i want a daily. just wanderin where to get cam, pushrods, 1.6 rockers maybe, springs, ect. please let me know where to buy all the stuff and what cam to buy?

I hear alot of complaining about cam not being big enough. lol. so im thinkin; Comp Cams XFI LT1 Camshaft, 230 / 236, .576 / .570 113 LSA .anyone know what kinda of numbers i would be lookin at? w/ sup. mods?

I know of an Impala guy that was running that exact cam with ported LT4s and a 150 shot of nitrous and his best is slower than my NA best, granted I think part of that is the LT4 mistake. My cam is less duration and lift than that one too.
If you want to make the classic overcamming mistake go for it but you should already know why when it does not perform.
Yes you hear people complain of not enough cam but consider A LOT of the folks on this site are inexperianced kids and it is likely a mismatch of parts causing their car too be slow.
Then look at the more experianced guys like Ellis, Alan, and myself just to name a few and we all like the "baby" cams based on RESULTS even if we have moved up too something bigger these days we just know how too make that work too.
KNown a few local f-body guys who went 230+ in the intake on stock head stock shortblock cars, one sold the car shortly thereafter and the other became a garage queen both ended up regretting the big cams because they did not have the compression and porting too support them. Both were M6 4.10 cars.

what kind of 1/4 mile times were these baby cams getting with stock heads/shortblock. do they compare to a bigger cam, with supporting heads? say the cam in my sig with a 190-200cc head.

I'd never do a baby cam myself, I did a cc305 cam back in the day with mild head work. car ran a 12.9 and I had wished I saved my coin and done it right the first time. I guess it's realtive to your goals ,desires and budget? I do have another bud who had a beefy cam on stock cubes with some decent port work and put down 360/360 (m6) and he liked it.

That is exactly what I mean my cam is between the 305 and 306 and my best is 11.9 in a bigger car.
Think everyone will agree it puts down more than the 360/360 your friend's car made too.
My car went 13.2 with 3.42s and 2800 stall at at over 4200lbs race weight on 87 octane with stock iron heads and 1.5 rockers with the old ZZ4 cam 208/221 .474/.510, was my only car at the time which meant 20+K a year and wisconsin winters. That motor in an f-body would have easily matched your 12.9.

Thanks for all the info, but i think im goin with a bigger cam, i have 01 cavy for a daily just so long as the cam performs. My buddy has 99 ss with a 234/236 595/598 112 lsa. it has quite a bit of bottom and a bad *** top end. granted its a ls1. So i guess now i need decide between:
1. Comp Cams 224/230, .503"/.510", 112 LSA (Lift is With 1.5:1 Rocker Ratio
2. Comp Cams "305" Camshaft: 220/230, .510"/.510", 114 LSA (Lift is With 1.5:1 Rocker Ratio)
3. Comp Cams XFI LT1 Camshaft, 230 / 236, .576 / .570 113 LSA,
Just cant make up my mind!

This is not an LS1 where talking about here.
You want to have the correct cam for your application, not the biggest.
Also, Longtube headers paired with a cam work wonders, you should look into that.
Then, after those things, stall it.
