I can't wait for the new camaro to come out. I'm tired of the some of the retarded LS1 crowd always harrassing me when I'm in my car. I enjoy my car and don't constantly want to race a stock newer model to my stock car to see who will win. They don't bother my third gen friend though, so when the new camaro comes out do you think the trend will shift away from the LS1? Do you guys get bugged all the time because you drive an LT1?

 

i dont want to affend anyone but ls1 guys are cocky. around here there is alot of cocky ls1 people and the funny thing is there are few lt1s that smoke them crazy around here and they still talk trash.

 

I usually get picked on by some unsuspecting ls1's Then when we run they're like damn that sum'bitch is fast! Do you have NOS(nauce)? I can't believe that's a LT1!

I can say i don't see that around this area. I own both and i get messed with equally in each car. Its funny when you hit the purge at a light then the person next to ya doesn't care if its an lt1 or ls1 more so against a mustang. I haven't ran the ls1 on the track yet let alone with spray on it, but i hate to say the ls1 feels faster on the butt dyno.

 

There's the dumb ones but there are also a lot of people have respect for lt1's too. The bottom line is stock for stock they dyno about 50rwhp more than we do and lets face it, there are not too many built lt1's running around to show them otherwise.

I always say that a V8 Camaro is a V8 camaro from an enthusiast standpiont. It really doesn't matter to me what engine you have as long as you are living out the F-body name. Anyone who is critical should stand their car up against a Z06 or otherwise faster vehicle, there is always someone faster.

 

I've always said that I think LSX owners penor size is inversely proportional to their cockiness.

So with that being said, I'm more of a man for owning an LT1.

 

I own an LS1 and i don't talk down to lt1 owners as long as its an F-body i show respect. So all im trying to say is don't stereotype.

 

i came from a 10 sec. lt1, in 01-02'' so they can be fast.
but now im all ls1, but i dont underestimate any fbody's
im a congratulator, i see a kwik or clean lt1, i give props
not surprised when i see a kwik one

 

lt1s are slow, you would be crazy to think you could ever outrun the mightly ls1.


...since I have a ls1 I have to say that..it was in the owners manual.

 

i would much rather have an lt1, i love being the underdog. so if you lose its ok because you weren't "supposed" to win, but when you win, its "damn you got smoked by an lt1!"

like someone else mentioned before... i own both and haven't noticed a difference in people trying to screw with me.

in fact... i had far more people revving their crap when i'm in my ls1 ss or b4c than when i'm in my 94 z28, with both of the ls1's being loud as hell and clearly not stock. in the z06 i literally have not been able to drive across town without 2 or 3 guys revving/burnouts from lights etc.

my point is, i don't think they're screwing with you because they think their ls1 > your lt1... i think they're just gooberdicks who try to race every car they identify as a "sports car"

You have to think, most people in this world just see that its a Camaro, or sports car. Some people don't even know the difference between a Mustang and Camaro, I've had my car called a Mustang before by older relatives and people Ive met who know nothing of cars.
Its not an insult, they just don't know... or care.
People that do have a sports car, or are fans of cars know that its a camaro/firebird and that its fast...thats it.
The line between an LS1 and LT1 has been blurred, when you take into consideration even the newest LS1, 2002, is a 5-6 year old car now.

Not to mention, with some performance bolt ons youre right to where a stock LS1 is anyways, and considering what a stall, gears and/or other mods do for your car, it does not matter anymore.
The 4th Gen body style overall appears very similar to the general public, so when someone looks over at you, thats all they see.
Yes there are a lot of people that know the cosmetic differences and what not, but not as many as you think, even in big cities.

Bottom line is, LT1's are fast, LS1's are fast and people don't care what it has. Only enthusiasts and people that know (once again, not as many people as you might think ) would be able to say "hey, look, candycorn lights...its an LS1.
Us Fbody owners know the difference, and we might be underdogs to the LS1, but to anybody else, we are just as much as a threat, and even LS1 guys put the pedal to the floor against us because the potential of both cars are great, and most guys who own LS1's have had an LT1 or two, or rode in one and know they are nothing to **** around with, especially when modded.
