how the f do you get the torx screws off this damn opti?

with a really small torx bit.. why are you taking them off?

you need a specialty tool, or you can get creative, I dont remeber exactly but I think the screw is a T- 7 so the tool you need is a E-7. this is what you need

Anyways some guys have used a screw with a torx hole like this
and put two bolts or a wing nut on the end and use it as a driver

long story short i put a crack in the cap on my new opti so im going to use the old cap that i am replacing the new opti with.

The only place I was able to get my bit was from the Snap on man. Its an E4 torx socket. Cost me about $13 8 years ago. I went to NAPA and several specialty tool places and nobody had one.

just take a screw from the throttle body plate and turn it over, it works perfect. you just have to clamp the end of it with vise grips so you can loosen the screws.

I conned the mechanic at the dealer to let me borrow theirs. He said the opti was the only thing he knew of that ever needed that socket, lol.
