Shep,

You can still use the stock rack/pinion and steering linkage, just have to modify it. I used a flamming river steering joint to make it work.

As for the heater box, you can either cut the mothertrucking bejesus out of it, or you can cut it and fiberglass it up to make it still functional.

Tony.

eah... I think more f-body guys are just learning to make room for things. All i know was in the mini truck world, making room for **** was half the project (stuff like the heater box in the way was common.. alond with brake boosters, firewalls, inner fenders....lol).

Thanks guys! A/C is long gone, but the stock rack is in place with looped lines.
The flaming river joint, is installing that permanent? If so, will it affect the install of a manual rack later down the road?

One of my Pacesetter headers is cracked or something. Had an unexplained rattle for a while and while working on the car last night, I got pissed at something punched the header collector and got greeted with a nice loud rattle

Nothing sitting on the collector or against any other part, just a metal on metal rattling sound

If its not one thing its another

Just looked them up on Summit's website, they are listed as headers that fit 93-97 LT1 F-bodies! But if you do the drill down with make, model, year, etc. they dont come up.

Anyone running these with a Canton Pan?
On summits website a footnote is listed saying they're designed for stock width oil pan.

I am running a Canton pan with mine. You just can not use the low oil level sensor. Just have to plug that hole.

Simple enough... After seeing some of the prices out there, Im gonna try to weld my Pacesetters as a temporary fix. Gotta get the DFI installed and running first

Thanks again guys,

Justin

Mine are on a Canton pan also.

The flamming joint is just a Ujoint, not a full linkage system. I still have some of the old linkage on it too.

Tony.

Speed Density,
Would you be interested in selling them or are they being saved for another project?

Sorry i'm late as usual but yeah I'm using a canton pan as well.... no clearance issues except for the aforementioned low oil level hole.... When you do the drilldown they don't come up but believe me they have them.... you might have them on backorder though since I am not sure that Summit stocks them.... They dropshipped to me I think directly from Hedman...
