Default finallly got my longtubes (pics)

After a painful 4 week wait on backorder I finally got my Hedman Husler ceramic coated longtubes in for my 1000hp LT1 project......

Basically the same headers Tony Shepherd has on his.... ceramic coated, 1 3/4" primaries stepped to 1 7/8" with 3.5" collectors... coated inside and out..... not a bad way to smoke 800 bucks...

thanks tony for hooking me up with the part # cuz I would have dropped 1300 on a set of custom lemons headers if not....

I also pulled my TH400 from under the workbench, unwrapped it and cleaned it up and started installing and mocking up the converter and taking some measurements.... ATI TH400 with brake, madman dipstick, ATI 4000 stall 10" fuel/blown converter.... enjoy!

dayum... where did you find that price??? factory direct?????

yeah these are pretty much the minimum for an all out build other than going with a custom fabbed set...... don't know any other company that makes a stepped race header for our cars....

how is your steering shaft clearance with these??? I'm not worried cuz i have a madman rack identical to Tony only he's using a PA Racing rack i think and i'm using a BMR..... how's your clearance???? Cuz I know the hooker lt's were built with that removable pipe so you could put the tube in around the header.... with these having no such pipe i'm kinda stressin on the shaft clearance (although i am glad the madman steering shaft is MUCH more compact).....

is your car officially a "roller" now Tony???? Saw all the threads and the classified section where you parted out most everything...... what made you call it quits for awhile????? i'm getting to that point but i'm so close to picking my motor up (one more week last i checked due to two MIA piston buttons) that i can't seem to do it yet....

Hey speaking of that when you parted that thing out you should have told me you had a cool set of hedman huslers that you wanted say 500 bucks for....

You'd have already had your cashiers check in hand for those *******......

Car has been a roller for about 3 months. Just sits in my garage possibly waiting a new heart.

I quit becuase I was not happy with the outcome of the old setup and i wanted some extra cash for school. BUT.... I think ive got some financial aid for the rest of my college years so i might build her up again. Maybe.

Tony.

I believe Kooks is only 1.75" primaries and 3" collectors... I believe he is looking for bigger than that.

Looks good Jason. Don't worry about the steering shaft clearances. It will be fine.

Kooks makes a 1 7/8" stepped to 2" into a 3 1/2" Collector. My buddy has them on his car. His car is stock as far as header fitment. Had to massage the primary next to the k member on the passenger side. That's it.

You might be right but I would never pay $1400 for headers that I might tear up with a bumper standing launch.

why not the kooks, even if they only have a 3" collector. 1000hp is not going to choke out a 1 7/8 3" collector header(your running duals right?)

exactly what tony said.... Kooks are overpriced and i would hate the smash the **** out of them if I decide if i don't like looking at the moon when i launch and i lift......

No I'm not using the stock intake. I'm using a ported/converter Victor E single plane with a 1350 cfm accufab throttle body.....

cam is a large solid roller.... bigger than 250 dur @.050 on both int and exhaust..... over 700 lift on intake and about 690ish exhaust....

and yes I'm running duals..... at the collectors dual 4" tubes back into 4" Inlet/4" outlet dynomax bullets with 4" turndowns...... gotta check ground clearance but i might need to run 4" oval tube if ground clearance is bad...

Where is the pic of the Engine.. I see the Headers and the Tranny..
Those are some big Headers, should get your power easily. I saw some the other day with 2" Primaries and 4" Collectors, that was unreal.

That was on a Big Block in a Drag car. It was at the Tranny shop that I went to. I don't think an LT1 Head would even fully use a Header that big..

That's why I wanted to see pics. Didn't think a 2" header would ever grace a SBC.
