Default hard clunk on 1st to 2nd shift (auto)

it only happens at WOT...i get a hard loud clunk coming from the rear when it shifts to 2nd...it dosent do it through the other 2 gears though. any idea what it is? & please dont tell me i need ANOTHER 10 bolt

You need another 10 bolts lol just kidding. Are you sure it isnt coming for the floor of the car? They are prone to bust the tranny mount and the torque arm will push the tranny in the floor of the car and make one hell of a noise.

i dunno its really strange...i dont get any funny noises from the rear end while cruzing...just a hard grinding clunk on the 1st to 2nd shift(only under full throttle)

I agree with Enforcer, the tranny mounts are garbage. I would check there first. Its like someone hits it with a sledge hammer.

wouldnt i feel the center console lift a bit? the tranny mounts on my old 3rd gen broke and the center console lifted a few inches when i stepped on it

tranny mount or maybe torque arm bushing

my big clunk went away after the tranny mount but i still had a light clunk at part throttle comin from the rear (weird it was only at light throttle) replaced my torque arm bushing today and its gone

No you wont necessarily feel it in the console but it does sound like it comes from the back. Like right under the seat. Best thing to do is get the urethane mount like an Energy Suspension. I have never had a problem with it.

Its either the tranny mount, or the torque arm clamshell bolt to transmission housing is is loose or fell out. Easy fix.

Tranny mount, they are weak. Go with a Poly one..
