Sorry, I don't get what you're trying to say here. MT does not make the ET Street in 315/35/17.

I remember a thread in the wheels & tires section that said the Goodyear drag radial wasn't as good as the BFG drag radial.

I'm looking for something stickier then the BFGDR that's still DOT legal.

Has anybody tried the Hooisers? I'm trying to maximize my tire size.

They make an 11.5 x 26" 17" e.t street, and as for the 315/35/17 e.t. street radial, go to jegs and search for part # 672-3744R

How is it that the MT website doesn't show this size and even when speaking to them on the phone last week, they didn't have the size?

Whatever. Like you said, they're listed on Jegs and I also found them at Summit. I'll be ordering a set.

Thanks for your help.

my brother runs the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval tires, they are Y rated. he never took em to the track but they hooked damn nice on the street and he got lots of miles out of them. he was running 275's on 8" wide rims.

How long do you want the tires to last. I could get two seasons of summer daily driving out of my BFG drag radials. That was with a few trips to the track also. You just have to keep you foot under controll on the street. If your going sidways at every stop light, then nothing is gonna last. I think you should be able to get 2 years or more out of the M/T drag radials, because there is more tread depth than the BFG DR.

I had a set of 275 45 17 BFG DRs on my car for most of last summer. Hooked great on the street, and pulled 1.602 60fts at the track. I personally wouldnt leave home without at least a drag radial on my car.

They just came out with them, I don't know when they are actually shipping though. It's a different tread pattern over the regualr m/t dr's so I don't know how good it'll hook but I'm sure it'll be alot better than bfg's.

Tell me about it. I got caught in a down pour mid afternoon, moved in fast. I was just coasting around a corner and found myself in the ditch

Even a year would be okay for longevity. I only care about summer weather. Once it starts to snow, I would change to something else. My only concern is water. I try to avoid the rain as much as possible. My driving is usually from school to home, which is a 30mph speed limit for 1 mile. I REALLY want MT ET Street radials, but need to be certain if they are safe. But like I said, I'll put on my friends KDW's and see if they hook. As long as they hook from a stop, I will go with them.

I'm thinkin maybe you just need to have a little more control over your right foot. You will be able to break any street tire (275) loose under 10mph...am I wrong? Remember, traction on the steet is not as good or predictable as at the track.

Well I will add one more thing. I understand a street tire will not dead hook from a stop on the street. I actually don't mind if I can't get traction below 10mph. Most people who want to race around here are going from rolls. So I should be good as far as traction goes. However, I wan't to dead hook at the track. I plan on going once it warms up and I don't want to worry about traction. I hear that some tires hook better on the street than the track . I'll look more into the BFG DR.

No tire is gonna hook on the street as good as it does at the track. If I were you I would get a set of the MT drag radials. They have better tread depth than the BFG drag radials, and I have heard they hook a little better then the BFGs.

I have had great luck with the BFGs, but would switch over to the MT drag radials of a got a great deal on them.

You've got a choice. Longevity, or traction. If you want traction, get a drag radial. If you want longevity, get any of the 30 street tires mentioned in this thread.

You can't have both.

Which BFG Drag radial are you guys talking about? The normal tire looking one (bfg drag radial 2) or the wavy one (bfg drag radial 1)?

I'm most likely going with the NT555R now. Been doing research and many people DD on this tire. Fairly cheap as well.

Well just to let you guys know, I ended up getting Nitto NT555R's. They should suit me well.

BTW, thank you Merv for providing that link to discount tire direct. I didn't even know about them and they saved me A LOT of money. $306 (two tires) with FREE shipping. If I would of went anywhere else, it would of been $400 plus $40 shipping. So again, thanks!

No prob. I am going to buy them Tires soon for my Z06 rims after I buy my other Engine here in a couple of weeks..weather is starting to get nice. I am keeping the MT ET Streets on the Salad Shooter rims, just to keep it looking like a sleeper..
Someone wanted to buy them off of me the other day..lol I got them both for $150, so they are staying. Research them NT 555's a little bit more, a friend of mine has them and they are real bitchy. He doesn't like them all that much..
