I have the shorties, as a plus the ceramic coating is still holding up decently, and the flanges are 5/8", I've only blown out one header gasket in over 3 years. Sadly enough I did that when the easiest bolt to re-tighten fell out.
I'd do long tubes right off the bat instead of shorties, if you can, don't know where your at and laws and such.

I don't think they make long tubes, I have the shorties(or are they mid-length?). I got them as a replacement for a cracked manifold more than anything. They improved the sound alot and may have added a few ponies but nothing real significant, if your going for gains go long tubes. The headers themselves fit great and with the coating still look new 7 years later, and no problems with the flanges or gasket leaks. The y-pipe on mine was banging the floorboard, I had to "tweak" it with a torch and prybars several times before I got it to stop.
