Here's my .02 -- I've been working on fitting a CAI in my '95 LT1. If your car does NOT have traction control (ASR) then you should be good to go with
most of them. My car happens to have ASR, and I've tried the K&N (Summit markets the same unit, but under the Summit name for less $$$), Moroso (Formerly Callaway) and SLP setups. If you look on K&N's website, it says that their unit will NOT fit cars with traction control - You can look at the picture I attached to see why. The Moroso unit has the same issue with ASR, but they don't mention that it doesn't fit. The SLP CAI fits the best
in this area, but a drawback is that it moves the MAF quite a bit toward the throttle-body and makes fitment very tight where you have to really compress the intake elbow. On my car, the A.I.R. Solenoid actually prevents the MAF from moving over so I can't fit the SLP without changing something... Either moving the solenoid, or modifying the tube. I really don't like the way the SLP moves the MAF over, but it does fit around the lines and the bleed screw nicely. So, in my situation, I decided to keep the SLP and I'm going to modify it so it does not push the MAF over so far.
