I need advice I am going to get my exhaust finished up tomorrow morning and I don't have cats on the car, but open mid-length headers into a y-pipe and that is were the exhaust dumps out. I want to get a cutout welded up straight into the intermediate pipe. The problem is that it is not neccessarily legal and I am affraid of getting busted by the police for no cats or noise violation b/c it is extremely loud. So do ya'll think I would be ok to drive about 20min away. Let me know. Thanks!
i ran long tube headers and welded dual cutouts behind the headers. 3.5 inch y-pipe and than ran the cats AFTER the y-pipe and ran the rest of the exaust back. you will be okay to drive your car that way. just in the future its not illegal to have cut outs on your car as long as they are closed. I just put the cutouts before the cats for the track.
