Where's the best place to tap into the stock tank for a sumped fuel system? Feed/Return?

In the stock tank there is a plastic sump thing right in the center at the very back when the tank is mounted. You have to pop it out when you weld on it. They make the stock in tank pump just about suck the tank dry that is why it is there. I was going to actually weld a sump on the stock tank rather just putting a outlet. I would think the returning up top would also be the best idea. Thanks for the pics. I would like to see some of the stock fuel railed high hp cars.

14 gallon nasty tank, fuel labs filters, weldon 900a, 12AN feed out the sump into 10AN all the way to the front, fuel labs y-block 10AN to dual 8AN and twin 8's will feed the back of the rails. 180 degree 8's are not shown off the front of the rails feeding a fuel labs regulator with 6AN back to the tank... 50 lb injectors...

fuel system and oiling system is two places you don't want to skimp.....

My fuel system would most likely be good for up to 1500hp with just an injector change..... I'm setup to make about 1000hp on nitrous....

Talk to Nate at Nasty Performance for all the details but i think my shipped price for everything (not injectors) was like 2100-2200..... Tank, regulator, pump, filters, all the fittings, y-block and 10AN, 8AN, 6AN line in different lengths. The 10AN was long like 15' or 20' as well as the 6AN and the 8AN was like 10' cuz i only need it for the y-block to the rails and rails to regulator....

Good thing about buying from Nate other than the great customer service and quality is not having to pick and piece together fittings. YOu tell him how you plan to set it up and he does all the fitting shopping for you... and puts together a document showing in what sequence all your fittings go from tank to rails and rails back to tank one by one....

Nate is a great guy to talk with about fueling. He set me up with most of my fuel stuff for the old setup.

Outlaw, sharp setup, love the clean firewall penetrations, very sharp. I've talked to Nasty about a full kit front to rear tied to a SuperVic, about $1800 quote. I have an AEro1000, Aero billet filter, about 75% of the fittings and line (AN10), just need a Fuel Pressure Reg, Nasty tank and after seeing your setup probably quite a bit more AN line and fittings. Again sharp setup you have there.

cant you do all this with just a better fuel pump? whats the point in the fuel cell and braided hoses. is it a class rule, does it flow better, or am i missing something here?

Well many run a good intank pump and still run braided with a decent fuel press reg and are good to for high quite some time. It's when you get to a point where you want to insure your investment by not "going-lean" on the top end with a poweradder, nitrous, turbo, SC or even a big all motor setup, the better fuel system maintains the fuel pressures your system requires throughout the full powerband without faltering or having enough either pressure or being able to regulate it right. The big AN lines and fittings are for the highflowing setups, the s/m tanks allow us to run like Wolfe Racing rear sway 4links Vs. bullshit swaybars, these tanks also have the provisions to bolt up the hardware like external fuel pumps, hardware mounts for billet filters and they are pre-sumped which is a plus Vs. going through the top of the tank.
