Default gen1 head swap

I have a set of brodix -8 heads with stahl exhaust ports, lying around, for gen 1 sbc, and I was wondering what its going to take to swap them on, when I rebuild the lt1. That is if its even worth it. I already did a search but dident come up with the info need. Thanks in advance

It can be done, in fact, I'm pretty sure it's been done on this board. IIRC, to have your heads drilled, tapped and whatever else needs to be done, it's $3-400. That said, people who go this route usually go with a single plane intake because they bolted on a killer set of heads and are now outflowing the LT1 intake. Your heads or intake could be modified to bolt up to each other but why bother? What kind of short block is this going on anyways?

not sure yet on the short block. I am I will be building it up after this season. It will definately be a forged bottom end, nitrous or supercharged motor. I havent decided on solid or hyd roller cam.

Anyone know how much power those of those brodix heads well flow?

They peak at 240@.500 for some odd reason.. if they're just sitting on your shelf yea it would pay as it's a pretty nice jump from a stock casting.. a stock intake wouldn't hurt this head tooo much either.. as it's not moving crazy air.. but i'd def see about having them massaged a bit.. w/ some better parts.. it could be a decent head w/ minimal $$$$

240@.500?????????? OUCH!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah my shop is doing my conversion for that price listed or less. Its more or less some drilling and welding.

I am ditching the factroy intake and going single plain. It will really let the heads breath.

these are the heads, the thing is im not 100% on what heads they are. There are no identifying casting numbers that I could match up, I was just going by looks....anyone verify what heads they area, maybe theyre not even worth the swap?
